MAI are delighted to welcome Professor Noël Tredinnick into the MAI family, with a clear passion to be part of realising MAI’s vision to support Christian health partners bring health and hope to some of the poorest communities in the world.
Dr Noël Tredinnick, is one of the UK’s most respected and recognised church musicians, notably as a conductor, composer, arranger, orchestrator, mentor, broadcaster, organist, lecturer and world traveller, who is internationally in demand. He teaches as a Professor at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama. And recently retired as Organist and Music Director at All Souls Church, Langham Place, London after 50 years of devoted service.
As a talented conductor and loveable broadcaster, for many years Noël was part of a regular team of conductors on BBC TV programme ‘Songs of Praise’. As a conductor of orchestras and choirs, he is in demand worldwide, having directed music for Billy Graham crusades in Toronto and Ottawa, and for the late Queen Elizabeth at St James’s Palace, Balmoral and for her Golden Jubilee celebrations. More recently, Noël hosts his own Radio Show several times each week on Premier Christian Radio: ‘’All Souls in Praise’’.
Noël became aware of global health issues through supporting friends such as George Hoffman (Church of England curate who became founder of Evangelical Alliance Relief Fund in 1968, which later rebranded as Tearfund) and Prof John Wyatt (Emeritus Professor of Neonatal Paediatrics, Ethics and Perinatology in Cambridge). Noël supported his missionary friends, Grahame and Wendy Toulmin who established a dental clinic in Zaire. Noël was deeply affected by regular visits into the Townships of South Africa, which impressed on him the importance of good sanitation and healthcare being available to all.
For relaxation Noël enjoys theatre, architecture, overseas travel, country walking and leading tours to the Holy Land as part of the Christian Heritage London team. Noël is married to Fiona and they are parents of Isabel, who works for Trussell Trust (Food Bank). Their son, James works in marketing for UBS in London.
Noël is coming with a serving heart, willing to bless MAI with his musical gifts and help promote MAI among his extensive global Christian networks.
