Fundraise

Take on a sponsored challenge or organise a fundraising event, and help us raise vital funds to bring essential health care to some of the world’s poorest communities.

Challenge yourself

Set yourself a physical challenge and ask friends to join or support you.  You could do a sponsored walk, run, cycle, swim or paddle board for a distance which is a challenge to you. Alternatively, you could organise a sporting tournament and charge people to enter.

The difference you could make

Here are just a few examples of how the money you raise through a sponsored or fundraising event could be used to save and improve lives:

Mum and baby at Guinebor II Hospital in Chad

Provide life-saving nutrition for children in Chad by supporting Guinebor II Hospital as they deliver a programme of Affordable Care for Pregnant Mothers & Malnourished Children

Bring a life line of support for patients with HIV, TB and chronic diseases through supporting Community Caregivers at Embo Primary Health Clinic, in a very poor community in South Africa

Bring comfort to those who are terminally ill in India by helping Chinchpada Christian Hospital (CCH) raise funds for their palliative care team. Team members frequently walk up to 5km to reach patients in places with no road access, often crossing rivers that have no bridges, caring for patients that noone else will reach.

Joanna on her Challenge 20 walk in Lake District in 2023

Joanna’s Sponsored Event – a 100km trek in the Lake District

Joanna undertook a 100km solo trek across the Lake District (west to east) to raise vital funds for MAI. Joanna had no GPS, just a compass and four good old fashioned OS maps. She battled her way through atrocious weather conditions – torrential rain, thunder and hail storms, and 50mph winds at heights of 800m! She successfully raised £1,500 for MAI – well done Joanna!
