Omoding had been the families’ breadwinner but he is confined to bed now. 19 months ago he fell from a height, injuring lumbar vertebrae which affected the spinal cord. He lost sensation on the lower part of the body, including the lower limbs and both legs have become severely emaciated. He also developed extensive bedsores and had lost hope. The Team has given him frequent nursing care. His bedsores are healing very well. He is now able to sit up and is much brighter.
A Care Worker visited the widow of a former client who had recently died; she went to give a mosquito net and drugs. She observed that the woman’s third child – just 3 months old – was sickly and has arranged for HIV testing to be done. 96 of the team’s 165 current clients are HIV positive.
