It was thumbs up from Jonathan Veira when he delighted an audience of almost 200 people in Abingdon recently. The charity concert raised just under £3,000 for our Partnership Project in Embo.
Jonathan showed off his mastery of a wide range of songs from Old Man River through Billy Joel to advertising jingles! Having told us about having to sing O sole mio at a Spanish restaurant recently and which is not a bass baritone piece, he showed how he had transposed it and performed it superbly, only then to remind us that it is better known as an ice cream advert!
He confessed to having been speeding to get to the concert. He was stopped by a policeman who told him he had been waiting all day to catch a motorist. To which Jonathan replied “I got here as quick as I could!” His hilarious stories off set his serious explanation of his journey with Christ through his life.
A night that will live long in the memory and have a lasting impact in KwaZulu Natal.
