Nkosinathi on the left of our picture was born HIV positive.  Now, he is 19 and completing high school!

Sadly, it was not until he became sick at the age of seven – losing weight, severe coughing and sores developing – that he was taken to the distant clinic and, together with his parents, diagnosed as HIV positive and having TB.  The whole family started on antiretrovirals (ARVs) and, although his father died in 2007, mother and son are doing well.

Nkosinathi has proved to be a good example for his peers in Embo, keeping to his medication regime and applying himself to his studies.  We are told he excels at football!

Standing proudly next to him is Mayenzeke, his Caregiver from our Partners, Power of God Community Church.  The team of Caregivers continue to do fantastic work, enabling people like this young man to live with hope, to flourish and play their part in the community.
