The Clinic will soon be finished – ahead of schedule. Please take a look at the latest visual update at: http://youtu.be/JBiQiRQiC1c. We hope to add some pictures of the inside in the next few days!
Alex, the builder, has been thrilled with the good weather and hard working locals that have enabled the work to be several weeks ahead of the original schedule. The MAI Volunteer Team that visited in late July were amazed to see the roof finished and external plastering and painting underway!
At the same time, the Health Authority has encouraged the church to open a permanent clinic immediately! The idea is to use part of the church building and the consultation room previously funded by MAI. Pastor Leonard has the first medical staff members in place and new equipment purchased. It puts a lot of work on him just now, but this will be an exciting development for the community.
The cost of the project – £102,000 including the purchase of additional land, site leveling and construction – is now raised, thanks to the generosity of MAI Change Makers and some fantastic fund-raising events as well as a generous gift that got us started from a Trust Fund. This facility will transform Embo!
