Bishop Anthony Poggo will be visiting the UK from 5th June, spending two weeks in England. He will be bringing the latest news of the challenges of the world’s newest nation, South Sudan. At the same time, he will be both seeking prayers and financial support to rebuild a destroyed healthcare facility in Romogi and also encouraging the church in the west to share the vision, faith and boldness of the church in much of the developing world.
Bishop Poggo heads the Episcopal Diocese of Kajo-Keji in Central Equatoria and comes to England as the latest MAI Partner in sub-Saharan Africa. Our hope is to enable him to restore this Primary Health Care Clinic (PHCC) that was destroyed during the earlier civil war. It is anticipated that to build the facility with solar power and secure water supply will be in the region of £125,000. Our Partners have demonstrated their capability of becoming self-sufficient in terms of running costs and are expecting within one year to sustain staff and other running costs without relaince on external charity.
The great goal of our Partner is that this facility will reduce the alarming rates of maternal and infant mortality in this community; a small price to pay for such a transformation!
