Our Partners in Embo, KwaZulu Natal, dream of a private clinic.  MAI is helping them to bring this to reality.  It would bring about a dramatic change in the lives of this community.

At present, when a person needs urgent medical attention, they need to travel to Bothas Hill clinic, some 15 kilometres distant.  Since this involves 4 “taxis” for the return journey, most inhabitants cannot afford to visit the clinic, including those on anti-retrovirals.

There is unanimous local support for the idea and it has received full approval of the KZN Health Authority The Authority acknpwledges that access to testing, counselling and treatments are inadequate for this community but has no capital funding available. In granting permission for the church to create such a facility, they have indicated a willingness to assist with running costs from 2014.
